Mission

Bags of fun

3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.

Mr & Mrs A made sure we had drinks and sunscreen before we got stuck in to clearing everything from their front garden.

With a clearer garden, Mr A will have better access for his wheelchair, and Mrs A will have space for a raised bed so that she can still satisfy her love of gardening, as she's no longer able to get down to ground level.

Ange started work on cutting back all of the branches which were overhanging the footpath, while Laura set to work on brambles and Leanne focussed on the less spikey things.

An hour of pulling and chopping later we switched focus to filling bag after bag with garden waste (and rescuing a giant bee from being trampled).

Luckily, we'd cleared enough space to store them until Mr A can arrange for them to be collected!
