Rowan, Pauline and Matthew turned up for the third visit to A's house. He is such a lovely man but has serious health issues and so it's impossible for him to do any work out in his garden, which is now quite overgrown. There is also a massive trail of ivy over his back wall, which has not been cut since 1974. It has proven quite a task clearing it and after three goes at it you will see that we are nearly there but still have a way to go. Pauline and Matthew got to grips with getting more of the ivy down, while Rowan took on the other plants and we found a bird bath in the middle of all of them. Life is never simple and at the end Matthew was going to paint the bit of the front gate he missed last time. A dropped the pot on the kitchen floor and most of it spilled out. Fortunately the carer was there and with some improvisation we managed to clear it all up, so no harm done. We will now go back one more time to finish the job and A and his carers can sit out and finally enjoy the garden.
