Pre-armed with the knowledge of where and when to go I set off on my second deed to collect food bank deliveries from local street champions, naively believing that there would be ample space within the small but mighty Suzuki Alto.

The donations from Norbiton hall were vast and easily filled the boot but still I was sure there would be more than enough space and rapidly dismissed my wife's advice to put the back seats down. Onto the first pickup at a local chip shop.... This was equally as large as people had been super generous and the back seats soon started to look full. I was now definitely unable to heed the advice of my better half and put the seats down, but in true stubborn form I soldiered on to my next pick up.

This was an even bigger donation and three large boxes somehow needed to be crammed into the tiny Japanese hatchback. Hours of Tetris skills honed in my youth came to the fore. Somehow, with the help of the front passenger seat it all got in. I set off for my third and final pick up and the car felt heavy. Not only was I now wondering if it would all fit, i was clinging to the hope that suzi the car would make it.

I arrived at the final pick up, another local resident who thankfully had everything in plastic bags. The space between foot wells and seats has never before been so full in a car. All that was needed now was suzi to make it to the drop off 5 mins away.

15 minutes later we arrive and the car is very unhappy at me for getting lost en route. I unload the car and feel two things... one the desire to lie down and two overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of everyone who collected and donated. Good going Kingston!
