3 GoodGymers ran to the YMCA Allotment today to show some love to one of the beds. On arrival we were delighted by all the apples and raspberries available for picking - Andrea from the YMCA told us to help ourselves, which we did! 🍏

After showing us what work needs to be done, Andrea and Mike unlocked the lock-up for us then we set to work with our tools to weed the bed. We came across some lovely plants that Celine identified for us and even found a blueberry bush amongst the weeds that we happily relocated and replanted. 🍇

Max also managed to uproot a gigantic weed which was taller than all of us! After working hard on the bed we raked the soil and covered the bed with cardboard to prevent sunlight reaching any remaining weeds. There's still plenty of work to be done, all for another day. A good start today though!
