Gill and Mayara made up 50% of the Ktchen Team at FoodCycle today, and what a team it was. Despite being a man or woman down, the team managed to put together another three course meal from the assorted ingredients taken from the food surplus. There was a lot of peeling, chopping and mixing to be done. Mayra was an excellent sous chef, supporting the FoodCycle Lead in preparing a delcious roasted vegetable bake with a cheesy topping. Mayra then hopped on board helping Zoe (another of the FoodCycle volunteers) to finish peeling carrots for her spicy carrot soup, and once again Gill was tasked with coming up with another delicious dessert. Today's offering was a trio of very sticky toffee banana upside down puddings with rhubarb and strawberry compote.

The hosting team were low on numbers too so we did our best to help out where we could. Mayra was an amazing washer upper - saving the hosts from spending the evening up to the elbows in washing up water.

Another great evening; so good to send the guests home with full stomachs, smiling faces, and a goody bag of fruit, veg and bread.

We would like to encourage more GoodGymmers to sign up for FoodCycle if they can. Although it's complicated as you have to create an account with FoodCycle and sign up there too, it's a really rewarding session, and great fun too.
