A shot in the arm - at the vaccine clinic

The autumn Covid and flu vaccine programme is now underway, and I was back at the Desborough Suite for a Thursday morning shift. It was quite a busy session with 8 vaccinators, and about 300 appointments for double jabs - one in each arm. I was lucky to be given two of my favourite volunteer roles, firstly checking in arrivals against the appointment lists, and then helping at the head of the queue, directing the patients to the next available vaccinator. An unexpected bonus at the end of my shift was receiving my Covid booster, as there was a spare dose that would otherwise have gone to waste. A very worthwhile morning.
