A rose between 2, 3... many thorns

3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Lambeth.

3 daring GoodGymers bravely took up the task of tackling 94 year old Ethel's overgrown garden. Once the jewel of the Wandsworth gardening scene, the garden has sadly become a maze of brambles and thorns in recent years with Ethel unable to look after it herself.

No matter! Armed with rakes, secateurs and nerves of steel, the 3 GoodGymers commenced battle. The great thorns put up one hell of a fight - there was blood, sweat and one rose based fatality. But the thorns were no match for the shear (get it?), determination of Beth, Victoria and Jim. After 2 hours of solid chopping and clearing they made it half way through the garden. A comparison of battle scars and debrief with lovely Ethel followed and our GoodGym warriors ran off in search of plasters or more GoodGym tasks!

Half a garden to go, we may have won the battle but we have not yet won the war...
