We trialled a new run yesterday, since covid we can meet at varied destinations, picked as a convenient meeting point that's conducive to our run. I think yesterday kind of achieved that, certainly some adjustments to be done ahead, but a good start.

Hils and I bumped into each other at the gate before Portway, then both pointed in synchronicity to the right gate, which we jogged over to. Meeting Ruth and Dan running in, literally in perfect timing. Once Kev and Shaz got there we departed for The Renewal Programme.

We slalomed through Upton, Greengate, Balam, Plaistow and towards the Barking road. Arriving plenty ahead of our eta of 730pm. Edna led us to the courtyard, vessels for soil and seeds lay in front of us. Along with an invigorating and calming waft of lavendar that blew vigorously through the courtyard, the residents were giving it a trim, to our olfactory benefit. Our job was to fill several containers with soil and plant some radish, mint and carrots. Additionally weeding and tidying jobs were diligently attended to.

I think there is much to scope to work with this charity, I know their service users will have had a much tougher life than average. Over time I hope we can form a relationship with the charity and the residents, sharing our energy, skills and ideas.

Thanks all for a lovely jog and chat

Till next week.
