Eight wonderful runners joined me in Haringey for a night of fitness fun and doing good.
We said a big Haringey welcome to JP who joined GoodGym for the first time. As part of a very long-winded and protracted intro speech we covered all the necessary details and talked about various bits of news including:
After all that and a short warm up we headed off towards our task. ave kindly led from the front and took us to Westbury Bank Nature Reserve. We all worked hard getting to the run and those at the front of the pack added some static exercises as we ensured the group stayed together.
Once at the task, Luke, our task contact showed us the new sign that had been put up and then set about splitting the group and assigning tasks:
After a good 25 minutes of hard work it was time to draw things to a close - a great effort from everyone really helping out the nature reserve in preparation for a community day at the weekend where even more work will be done. Luke was very grateful for today's work and the previous efforts too!
We all posed for a quick photo in front of the new sign, i had to run back and retrieve my forgotten bag (thanks Latoya) and Dave crossed the road in a poor fashion! However, we were all gathered again quickly and we headed on back to base. Great running from everyone and after some stretches we said our goodbyes and a six of us headed for the Haringey monthly social for some yummy pizza - a perfect goodgym night!
Thanks for having me and see you soon.
Cheers, Pritesh
"The Westbury Banks Nature Reserve is a community lead project to transform derelict land into a nature reserve. All work on the site is on a voluntary basis and the management of the site is done free of charge! There are big plans to install a storage unit for the equipment, a mural, a log path with wood chipping, a pond for amphibious for wildlife and a grand insect hotel
