On the day the news was finally confirmed and Vice President Kamala Harris made history, I was having my weekly catch up as a Slough CVS wellbeing befriender.

After we caught up about F's health issues and how she has had to increase her painkillers to ease her back pain, she regaled me with tales about her history and how she grew up in Italy, came to the UK aged 17 looking for work, met an English lad who became her husband hence her having been UK based for over 70 years.
