I met up with Jim and some fellow volunteers from the Friends of the Cole Valley to litter pick the Norman Chaimberlain Playing Fields in Shard End today. He was armed with a very long litter pick, which came in very handy for fishing cans, crisp packets and even a bucket from Shard End Lake. In one of the grottiest spots we found a tyre and part of a scooter. I left after an hour and a half, filling three bags and left them with the dozen filled by Jim and the other volunteers. While I headed home Jim and some of the others continued to pick along the cycle path. I will continue to list this valuable and friendly opportunity to help this fantastic group in the weeks and months ahead.
