Ealing

Mission

A Lidl goes a long way!

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Ealing.

Mr B has fallen on hard times and was in urgent need of some food having only recently been referred by the authorities to Goodgym who flagged him as an urgent case for a food delivery as his benefits will take time to come through.

Learning of the case on the way back from another mission, I rang ahead to enquire about his desired shopping list. It was clear he in need of a kind ear as much as food so I was happy to listen.

Mr B said he was open to any food “for subsistence” as he has lost so much weight recently only specifying meat and veg .. so I gave thought as to what I thought would be easy and nutritious meals for the £20 limit.

I opted for Lidl as a store en route and I hope I successfully maximised the budget!

I brought the Lidl bounty through the flats to Mr B who seemed very grateful indeed and offered a cup of tea which I politely declined. He repeatedly said how Goodgym volunteers are angels and thanked us all!
