Mr J had tended his garden until a stroke and arthritis in his wrists put paid to any digging or heavy lifting.

Using a mower and strimmer, he had been able to keep on top of things...now, however, his gardens were looking a little neglected and overgrown.

Arriving on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I thought about half an hour would see the job done.

However, as a result of the bus strike, Mr J had been unable to go out to get blades for his mower, or string for his strimmer...and so it was that I found myself on my hands and knees, trimming the grass with a small pair of hand shears.

An hour and a half later, I had cut back overgrown bushes and trimmed the grass (as best I could) , removing weeds as I went.

Mr J was very grateful and even came out to lend a hand...raking and bagging the off cuts.

Another very happy customer!
