A cooler evening than recently saw 11 Goodgymers ready to rock in Ipswich,

Tonight's task was for The Teapot Project to collect food past it's sell by date from retailers and transport it to the YMCA. A change in the logistics of the task during the week meant our destination was changed to Nandos where we would be collecting chicken!

So we set off along the Waterfront for the relatively short run to Cardinal Park, where we met Mischa from the Teapot Project. She arranged with Nandos staff to bring out a tray of frozen chicken which we distributed across all our backpacks. After a few photos we set off for the YMCA - with Mischa's warning that the chicken could only be out of the freezer for up to 4 hours - hopefully less than 5k could be done in time!

Our route to the YMCA took us along Portman Road - home of Ipswich Town FC and also the location of statues of the 2 most successful Ipswich and England managers (so far), Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey. We paid homage to England's exploits at the Russia with photos of each one - and a little ambition of mine fulfilled - 2 of my favourite things combined Goodgym & ITFC !

As we arrived at the YMCA we were directed to the kitchens and unpacked the chicken into the freezers before heading off on the return leg of our run.

On the way back we stopped off in Portman Road again for a tough little pyramid interval session - 30 secs, 60 secs, 120 secs, 120 secs, 60 secs, 30 secs with equal recoveries

Despite some appreHENsion, No-one CHICKENed out, or cried FOWL. Everyone put in an EGGScellent effort FLYING around the circuit to achieve BEAK performance, as the CLUCK counted down until they could run no FEATHER.

After a few minutes rest to reCOOP we took a gentle run back to base stopping off for a final photo at the Teapot Project phone box on Stoke Bridge.

Next week we make a return to Gusford Primary School - More details and Sign up HERE
