We had six people signed up for this evening's flyering task which was to help out the Friends of Loughborough Park spread the word about their litter picking Sundays and opportunities to join the committee (a worthwhile cause we say!)

There was a brief sprinkling of rain just before 6:45pm to freshen the atmosphere and when the AA arrived at Papa's the chat was all about favourite breed of dog - no category needed for the intro then. Many wonderful breeds were mentioned and we didn't even get on to the relevant merits of Pomeranians as dust collectors with Shauna but that can wait for another week.

It was wonderful to see the playground full of kids and families having fun so we squeezed our small group in by the benches for a very short dynamic stretch before heading out on a 1km jog up to Loughborough Park Estate.

7:20pm We rounded the corner from Somerleyton Road with the estate looming over us we couldn't see Anthea but as we turned around with the AA pulling out his phone to call she materialised right in front of us..... incredible stealth action indeed. Anthea kindly explained a bit about the work of the LP Action Group and then we were off to flyer the 5 or 6 large developments mentally preparing ourselves for rapid stair climbs, burning quads and being bitten by letterboxes.

7:38pm The task was over. This has to be a record - all of the blocks covered, no one had even broken a sweat and no fingers nipped by hungry letterboxes - something was amiss. In fact the task was much easier than expected, all the letterboxes were either on the outside of the buildings or just inside the entry doors and Anthea had a 'fireman's key' letting us in (or was it a magic wand.....??)

Aimee rightly sussed that the only sensible thing to do was to conduct a 30 minute wall sit / HIIT session or go to the pub for a quick drink. The vote was pretty close but the pub just won out with it's lovely outdoor seating and cold beverages and at 1.5kms away a perfect distance to work a little thirst up. Despite attempts to add a few metres to the distance Inny suddenly became the personification of Google Maps identifying that we could save valuable seconds by taking a back street up to the pub.

Conversation swirled brilliantly at the Trinity Arms from rewilding the Trinity Gardens Square for GoodGym, pole dancing (ahem), the Lionesses semi final heroics beaming live and recommendations for pubs, walks, apps, gluten free bakeries (Maya over the moon!) and Keeping Up Appearances (the tv classic).

A really fun one - thanks to all and keep an eye out on the socials as Effie will be dropping some serious content in the coming days!
