A lovely first run and task of the year!

It was such a lovely crisp evening for the first group session of the year - felt proper wintery after summer-like new year weather! We met at Greenleaf Rd church and proceeded to have an energetic warm-up using a set of dynamic exercises after which we chose a short jog to the church attacking that Hurst Rd hill ('slight incline' if you're Ercole;)) that definitely got us all hot and bothered for the task in the St Mary's churchyard!

Rave on the Grave Our task for this evening (apart from shooing away very good looking foxes) was to start clearing a corner of the churchyard from brambles and ivy, some of which been overtaking gravestones for many many years! Tim the head gardener met us to explain the task and provide the tools so we got to work quickly to ensure we would not get cold - we cut brambles (with many 'ouch' echoing across the churchyard...), pulling off ivy - it was sooooooooo satisfying sawing through very thick layer of Ivy to 'free the grave' and discover who was put to rest there. So much history in this lovely place! It was a super fun task, think we all really enjoyed it and it provided for a good workout that kept us warm throughout.

Stretching out We've tidied everything up and jogged back to the pace for a nice stretch out (but not cool down to ensure that everyone got home warm), well done to everyone!
