Pete and Naomi joined David and Wendy at St Matthew's for another glorious gardening mission. The original plan - to clear more grass from the graves - was postponed, as the rising temperature led us to choose a more sensible and shaded plan b: crown lifting the trees.

Pete lopped the branches and Naomi chopped and bagged them up while David and Wendy worked on a couple of other trees ... together we transformed them in no time! Naomi discovered more memorial slates under the grass while collecting the branches, so carefully uncovered a few more. We can't wait to come back and see how many more are hiding in the grass.

During a much needed break for a cold drink we chatted about the therapeutic benefits of volunteering, being outdoors and doing something physical. Ask any GoodGymer and they will agree! The mission lifted our spirits as well as the trees, as we immersed ourselves in the beauty of our surroundings.

This was Naomi's 50th good deed - what a fabulous day to celebrate the milestone!

We're always grateful for the warm welcome, interesting tasks and great company at St Matthew's and will book some more Group Runs and Community Missions there over the summer!
