Date and time
13:00 - 15:00The Community Quilt Project was formed by a collective of amazing individuals and grassroots organisations in Barnet. They came together to create something beautiful to represent community resilience, strength and solidarity. The quilt's patches were each made by refugees, asylum seekers, old people, young people, people of all faiths and ethnicities and cultures - and it's going on parade!
Goodgym has been asked to help provide a team of skilled stewards to help safely shepherd the parade from Swan Lane Open Space in Whetstone, down the High Road through North Finchley - where a huge rally in support of the immigration service took place last year - and then to Victoria Park in Ballards Lane. It's not far, but they are working with the police to make sure everyone stays safe.
We'll meet early for a safety briefing - exact time TBC, but likely around 1pm, for a 2pm start.
They are expecting as many as 200 people, and need a solid team of around 20 stewards - let's try and supply as many stewards as possible! But they'll find volunteers from their own community networks as well.
