It was all going on in Bath today as far as Goodgym Bath goes kicking off with a busy morning and Goodgym doing a Marshal takeover at The Bath Skyline Parkrun before heading off to Bath City Farm for our group run.

The warm up was slightly unconventional, involving more gymnastics than normal! A short slightly hilly 5k run for 24 Goodgym runners from various corners of the country.

The run across with enhanced by the Bath, York and Bristol flags worn as capes fluttering in the breeze, to aid flying down the hills. This was the inaugural unveiling of the York GoodGym flag, proudly featuring the race team logo appropriately on this inaugural attendance of GoodGym York at a race team event.

The tasks on arrival at Bath City Farm were varied, from moving hay bales and plants to shovelling goat poo. Several enjoyed this task; none more than Sarah who, knee deep in poo, confessed a goal of 'digging to China'. Most of the excitement centred on the toy tombola with Danica leaving with several new prized possessions, sadly missing out on the unicorn. Goats, inverted in 1987, are the spirit animal for the adventurous. Luckily the resident ram chose not to be too adventurous in the pursuit of Goodgymers down the hill as his horns looked formidable.

Emily was sad to be on her last run with GoodGym Bath :(

Controversy came when we were instructed to move only the plants that would sell, so an amazingly beautiful display was created. After that, most of the team headed down the bank to help with weeding whilst Matt spent a huge amount of energy holding the gate, ably assisted by Frances (when on a break from taking pictures of goats)

Many of us tried to be friends with the sheep herd but were rejected and had to use our sheep befriending skills to weed instead. It's a little known fact that these are transferable skills. We were rewarded with epic slushies which looked and tasted like blue and purple.

Frances was as busy as ever on her 200th Good deed.

Many people went on to enjoy food and drink in the sunshine outside a historic crescent! The team collapsed from the shear excitement of the day's good deed. Or possibly from sunstroke.

Thank you Steph, for organising an amazing Saturday in Bath, from the parkrun, the task, the "short walk" and picnic to the evening meal. It was an ideal first day for a GoodGym race weekend.
