Wowsa, 17 amazing GoodGymmers ran 2.5km and built/swept/watered/burpeed like heck at John Scurr Primary School!

What a night it was! It had been the 2nd day of actual spring time glorious weather in London Town when all the runners turned up at the glorious Town Hall Hotel! They were amazing hosts as always and even gave us a room with a bed! However as tempting as a nap was we had work to do!! We had a new comer this evening so big welcome Sam!! Excellent work on the Willow Dome!

We started with a quick warm up: side to side jumps, high knees, toes kicks, Carioca steps, all the classics! And then we set off to the school with Andy leading the way! Excellent navigation skills Andy.

We arrived and were welcomed by the lovely Cassie who quickly set us to work; sweeping, watering the plants and last but not least, helping to finish the Willow Dome! What is a Willow Dome I hear you ask?! It is a wonderful construction of thick twine to make a dome like building. It even had a window. Won-dome-ful!

But of course no GoodGym sesh is complete without a bit of a fitness sesh. Bring on the TABATA! This is 20 seconds work with 10 seconds rest x 8. 4 minutes work and it is over! Excellent high intensity training if you're short on time. We started with jump squats and sprints and followed up with burpees and sprints hehehe. Everyone put in some amazing effort, burpee legends! We finished up with a few mobility type movements: walk outs, single leg deadlifts and plank shoulder tappity taps! Cross training is of course so important for runners!

Then before we knew it we were heading back to the hotel, a few good stretches and we were done! Credit to James for the run-pun title. Thankyou for having me TH, it was so great to meet you all and I had the best time! Good luck with all your running adventures and hopefully see you soon!
