Six volunteers met at lunchtime at Braywick Leisure Centre to plant some oak saplings around the old oak tree. Luckily the soil was easy to dig as the grass had warmed up in the sunshine! We used canes to support and plastic covers to protect them so hopefully some of them will grow. It was lovely to show the nursery aged children who walked past what we were doing as they had been learning about how plants grow.
