Parkrun on Holiday: Crosby Parkrun

This is not a Sticker Saturday event. It is a chance though to tick off the "C" on the parkrun alphabet. Run, walk, jog or cheer at Crosby Parkrun this Saturday. If you want to volunteer, please contact crosby@parkrun.com well in advance. You will also need to be registered with parkrun and have a scannable copy of your barcode if you want to record a time for this event.

Course location: The run starts on the beach near Crosby Leisure Centre, Mariners Road, Crosby, L23 6XS.

Course overview: The course starts on the beach near Crosby Leisure Centre, giving participants the opportunity to run (or walk) alongside Anthony Gormley’s iconic Iron Men. After an out and back on the beach, the course continues along the promenade with views of the Mersey Estuary on the left as far the Coastguard station, before returning on the grass route towards the Leisure Centre car park for the finish line.

Occasionally (at high tide) the course will omit the beach section and start by the car park where the normal beach course finishes. An out and back section on the grass is then followed by the normal route along the promenade etc. More information: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/crosby/course/

Train information: 10 minute walk from Blundellsands and Crosby Train Station on Merseyrail’s Northern Line (Southport to Hunts Cross service). See www.merseyrail.org for more information.

Bus Information : the nearest bus stop is the Riverslea Road stop (on Bridge Road), on the 53 bus route from Liverpool City Centre (Queen Square Bus station) to Crosby (Islington). Car information: Limited free parking is available at the Leisure Centre in the right hand (north) car park only. Postcode L23 6SX.

Meeting place: Crosby Leisure Centre, Mariners Road, Crosby, L23 6XS at 8:45 to make the briefing at 8:50.

For anyone who would like to go for breakfast or a coffee after we could go to Azul Monkey, Luna & Wave cafe or get a take out from the Leisure centre and head back to the beach.
