We rose to the challenge

Blazing heat didn’t stop Nathan and I from tackling some serious dead-heading to help keep the rose bushes in blooming good shape at Alexandra Recreation Ground. We were in good company, chatting as we worked alongside volunteers from the Friends organisation and, by the time we’d all finished, the beds were tidy and weed-free ready for the start of the annual fair. Hearing about some of the stalls planned for the afternoon, I popped back later – always tempted by a homemade cake!
