This volunteer-run project is transforming the Meadow Lane playground into a nature-inspired play space for children, families and the wider community. Working in partnership with Oxford City Council and informed by local consultation, we’re enhancing the existing play area with natural features that support wildlife, encourage active outdoor play, and create welcoming spaces for all ages. Practical tasks include digging, moving soil, planting hedges and wildflowers, and cutting back old mesh fencing as we begin turning the newly opened area into forest-school play zones and wildlife-friendly habitat. SESSION 2

We did quite a few sessions at Meadow Lane Playground over the spring and summer, helping to remove some dangerous metal fencing, building dens and generally tidying the place up.

The project has been awarded some funding and would like to plant some hardy plants as part of the next stage of their transformation of the space.

ALL HAND ON DECK

Please bring gardening gloves and a head torch. Tools will be provided.

Please meet at the Meadow Lane playground at 6pm so that we can make best use of the daylight. There will be a run after the task for those who would like to stretch their legs.
