Good for the Soul!

Goodgym Mission Friday 26th April. Helping at Soul Church open luncheon. Elizabeth, Felicity, Maria and Briony were met at the Soul Church by Gill who introduced us to the helpers at the Luncheon centre. After an introduction to the work the Church does on a Friday, we sorted through bags of food donated to be distributed after lunch to anyone who wanted bread, donuts, crisps, crumpets to take with them. Tables were already laid so jobs included dishing out todays menu of Beef Curry, rice, bread and cookies and ice cream for dessert. We helped with clearing tables, washing up, and sitting and chatting with those who wanted to talk. Approx 60 people came in and had a meal, chatting to them they were very appreciative of this Friday luncheon, both for company and hot meal. After the clearing up had been done we served the Volunteers who wanted food (us Goodgymers didn’t as we needed to get to other commitments). An enjoyable time spent.
