On this week's run we visited St Stephen's Church and we also gained 4 new runners! Phill joined us for his first group run after becoming a member a couple of weeks ago and Nicola coming back for her second run also bought along two new recruits in the form of housemates, Rob and Johannes. Special shout out for Johannes who joined us fresh off the back of his first half marathon at the weekend, major kudos! We were also joined by Larissa who popped along last week to get her docs checked but we are very glad she was able to join us for her first group run this time round!

This week we also had two other very important things to note, firstly we were going to the pub for our first social and secondly (and sadly) Rachel was coming for her final run with us before she leaves to move to Croydon. We are very sad to see her go but very happy in the knowledge that she has picked her new flat with the proximity to GoodGym Croydon in mind!

Good luck Rachel, we'll see you out on some missions very soon!

Our run to the task this week was quite short, perfect for beginners and those returning to running. We were delighted to see Sonia and Aamr back with us and as the sun was out we were also graced with the presence of Mike who has now reached a fantastic milestone of 10 good deeds!

Mike reaches 10 good deeds, read all about it!

On arrival we were met by church warden Geoff who equipped us with a few tools to complete some outdoor maintenance, the main job was to try and move all the leaves that had gathered in the garden and one of the tools we were presented with was a leaf blower, very exciting stuff compared to the usual racks and and brooms!

However after a few tries I think we all decided that the job was best done by hand and everyone really got stuck in! After 45 minutes of weeding, sweeping and clearing and the came to leave Geoff we really pleased with what we'd managed to achieve in our time there!

With just a short jog back and the pub on our mind we made a quick stop on a nearby pedestrian path for a mixture of sprints and HIIT exercises before heading back to base for a quick stretch.

Thank you all for coming this week and helping to make a difference to the local community! I'm away for next week's group run but you will be in good hands with Sarah who did an excellent job of running the Ealing group before I started, you can sign up for next week's run here and hopefully I'll see you all in two week's time!

Happy Running :)
