Merton CouncilThe Great British Spring Clean is the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign. Each year, more than 400,000 volunteers clear litter from our streets, parks and beaches. This year the Great British Spring Clean will take place from 13 to 29 March 2026 so for our Monday group session we wanted to do our bit and hopefully really make a difference.
Note that the session starts at 7pm - and we will meet outside the Raynes Park Tavern and then walk to the litter picking area. There is no group run this week but you are welcome to add a walk/run/cycle beforehand and invite others to join you - there's an option under 'Getting There' so feel free to use it.
If you have gardening gloves or other gloves suitable for litter picking be sure to bring these and if you have your own litter picker this would be handy - but we will have equipment provided by Merton Council. It will be dark and there is an area which may be a little muddy and difficult to access (behind a fence) in the dark so wear sensible shoes and bring a head torch if you have one (we will have a few spare and also will rig up spotlights in the darker space to help).
How are you getting there?
