Don’t refuse me!

This week GoodGym Woking joined the Run Woking Company to do a litter picking session.

Anne, James, Katie and Liviu met at the Run Company shop. We had the opportunity to try Brooks running shoes as Lucy came from Southampton with several samples.

She also lent us strong material sacks which we lined with our usual rubbish bags. The sacks made carrying the rubbish much easier while advertising for Brooks.

We ran/walked along the canal towards St Johns. Adam joined us along the way and we were a little disappointed, sorry, rather impressed as there was hardly any litter to collect.

On the way back to the town centre, on one of the main roads, we found more detritus to fill our bags.

The Run Company organises a “refuse” collection every last Wednesday of the month. It is such a pleasant way to do good for the community while meeting new running partners that we will endeavour to join them.

Are you joining us on Saturday for Woking parkrun, either as a runner or as a volunteer? And while you are thinking about it, why not support the junior parkrun on Sunday morning too?

In the meantime, happy running to you all.
