3 Goodgymers ran 4 KM to help clear an allotment on Ouse Road, Sheffield. This was a taster session so the focus was mainly on the task rather than fitness.....that said, the digging was very physical.

Our task was to simply turn over the soil at an allotment. The space we worked on was a good size, covering around 4 pitches. We linked up with a number of volunteers who specialise in gardening. Their knowledge was pretty extensive.

We managed to dig over a very impressive area before finishing off and celebrating with a coffee and a biscuit. The hot drinks were made using a snazzy little kettle device which operates by setting a small fire in the base. Bear Grylls would have been in his element.

Back to base

Once we were suitably worked we took a 10 minute cool down/aerobic run back to our temporary start location. We didnt stretch off as everyone was running home - the legends :-) Everyone did promise to have a good stretch once they were home!

Monday 16th Jan we are meeting at Bramall Lane for our weekly group run. Sign up here
