15 do gooders turn up, took to the streets and aced the task.

welcome a few lovelies who go by the names Martha, Anna and Shehnal

First up was Dashing Dave, he was followed by a trickle of red until 6:50, during this time we were super happy to welcome a few lovelies who go by the names Martha, Anna and Shehnal. Great to have you guys on board!! After a quick briefing and introductions, we got our running apps started, then hit the tarmac, in search of this weeks light down at Chestnuts Park.

we stopped off for the usual #BridgePic

This week's task would see us spreading mulch, planting wildflower seeds, watering flowerbeds and fixing an area of grass with patches of turf that had been dug up/cut out where the wildflowers would be planted. Very resourceful! On our way to Chestnuts Park, we stopped off for the usual #BridgePic and gained some support from local residents who cheered us from their front garden. We had already started on a high due to good weather and banter so this just added to the good vibes that flowed through the group.

space for exploration

Once at the park, I grabbed Paul and Clare to help me get the hosepipe and some containers for transporting mulch from inside. En route to hook up the hosepipe, Clare mentioned the hose and it’s buggy seemed like something you’d send into space for exploration. A little song popped into my head, have a listen – perfect to get you amped for a run or workout. While we did this I had asked Dashing Dave to lead the rest of the group into the park in search of Ceri the task owner.

Shouts out to the rest of the crew who aced their jobs

Ceri wasted no time in briefing the group and getting them started. Everyone split into little groups. Jobs included spreading mulch, watering flowerbeds and planting. Huge props to Cara and Ben who managed to get the whole way around the park to stabilize every single baby tree lining the park's perimeter. First time anyone's got the whole way round – BIG UP! I must say I noticed Anna, Shehnal and Martha putting in work on their first GG outing – props for that! Shouts out to the rest of the crew who aced their jobs and supported the newbies really well.

Banter was a plenty

Everywhere I went on my rounds (to get the silly face off comp pics), I could hear laughter. Everyone seemed to be getting on really well. Banter was a plenty. Just how we like it. After my whip round and all that fun, which included some funny photo taking and a pun suggestion that mentioned the hose we were using, we then noticed a beach near the tennis courts. We laughed and joked about the pun that had naturally come out of our observations and wondered if it would fly, we then found these which we put straight in the bin – of course. The pun was a must at this point.

enjoyed a round of high fives

Time had unfortunately run out by this point so we packed up, enjoyed a round of high fives then made our way to the war memorial on Philip Lane, where we did a frantic fitness session before heading off again in the direction of HQ. Then came the sprint finish, warm down and loads more banter before we all went our separate ways feeling very content indeed.

Until next week folks

Stay good, keep fit and look out for the light!
