17 great GoodGymers ran 5.5k to the HUG garden to help Hackney Gardeners to get ready for the Hackney downs show.

On a beautiful summers evening we welcomed some new faces to Team Hackney as well as celebrating our amazing regular runners amazing achievements! There was a huge big up for Nico for completing a 54km Ultra Marathon at the weekend. As well as the build of anticipation for Antonia's 100th Good Deed next week.

We joined the masses on London Fields for are bloody pumping, form refining and muscle activating dynamic warm up and running drills. Before heading off lead perfectly by Cecilia to Hackney Downs.

A steady 2k run saw us arrive in perfect timing to meet the always entertaining Myra who explained what we were doing for the evening.

We first carried 17 rolls of turf over to the garden followed by some potted Hydrangeas and spades then rigged up the hose pipe for sone epic watering action! We got to work like the slick unit we are, digging perfect sized holes for the hydrangeas and planting them, relay watering the whole garden with big buckets and ripping the turf up to landscape art the garden to the brim and creating the Green clawed Dinosaur.

We then had the privilege to start the first every HUG garden harvest! Dean had the honour to dig up the first potato which we planted back in May. There is an under 5's workshop on Saturday where they will continue with the potato harvest.

With a very life like dinosaur, planted hydrangeas, watered garden and a potato we left to much thanks from Myra and ran 3.5k back to base to add a bit of distance to the evening.

A series of static stretches a silent round of applause and we were on our way with a job well done!

Next week we are back at the HUG with a Mind Blowing and home creating task where we will build some underground bees hives!! Sign up here

Keep that training rolling

Softly smooth
