It was a lovely sunny evening so we escaped from the noisy hall in Papa's to the outdoor space, which is still quite noise as there are many cars going by but Oh how lovely to ensure a different form of ear noise.

Tonight was Michael's 50th run - oh how we celebrated! Massive well done Michael. The other BIG NEWS was the Freyja had finally made a square egg with her Square Egg Maker - her Shit Prize of the Month award. Why one would want to make such an abomination it is unclear but John Hunter for one was certainly not on board.

It's an abomination! Said John Hunter.

We split the group into a shorter run to lovely Ruskin Park and a longer run to the Portico Gallery in West Norwood. Here's Tom B's report of what went down at Ruskin community gardens:

A crack team of 18 of us ran down to the south London hidden gem of Ruskin Park for an evening of gardening joy. We met Paula who introduced us to our patch. The garden itself is a cracking community space, which grows all manner of fruit and veg. Our mission - which we gladly accepted - was to weed two patches, cut a fine trench along one of them and tidy up a lovely round bed of plants that had become overrun. We set to task with vigor and pose and after 30 mins of good digging and forking by Joe we had ourselves some good-looking plots. Paula was delighted so all that was left was to take an extended shuffle around the park to get some banging views of our capital and then head back to papas. And if by magic we arrived when team portico were coming back too. A lovely evening and cracking task. Nice one team Ruskin's!

The rest of us headed up the mighty hill to West Norwood, which on a warm evening feels a lot longer and a lot harder than usual. John had some seriously organised chaos going on in the yard as all of the gazebos, sides and tarps were out after this month's West Norwood Feast. We had to move things from here to there and some things went over there, until the yard was looking more organised than chaotic. We all had to be very aware of the dangers of the old cement mixer somewhat inexplicably left slap bang in the middle of proceedings but everyone did very well.

And with that we all ran home and did some stretches and headed off into the night. Great work Lambeth!
