Looking to help with an allotment that is providing fresh food for the Food Bank in East Finchley. Various tasks to do with planting and harvesting the vegetables. Tools will be supplied. Please come along to this worthwhile and community activity part of Finchley, charities.

The Finchley Charities support disadvantaged people, the Foodbank and local schools. Meet outside Fuel Land Allotment gates at 7:15 if you want to go direct!

Fuel the Land, Lift the Beds!

📍 Mission Location: Fuel Land 41a Wilmot Close East Finchley London N2 8HP

(We’ll meet at the Phoenix and head over together – it’s a nice short distance so perfect for walkers too.)

What’s the task?

We’ll be helping to fill and raise a garden bed to make it more accessible for wheelchair users.

This is practical, hands-on work that will directly improve accessibility and inclusion within this community space. Expect moving soil, filling beds, teamwork and that very satisfying “before and after” feeling.

Why it matters

The Finchley Charities do brilliant work locally, and improving access means more members of the community can enjoy and benefit from the garden space. Small physical changes can make a big difference.

What to bring • Gloves (if you have them) • Headtorch (just in case) • Clothes you don’t mind getting muddy • Big smiles and teamwork energy

All fitness levels welcome. Whether you run, jog, walk or just meet us there — you’ll be part of something meaningful.

Let’s fuel the land… and ourselves.
