7 awesome runners ran over 5km to flyer for the mini marathon event in aid of the Greenwich & Bexley Hospice!

We were joined last night by new runner Emily, hope you had a good first run with us!

After a quick little warm up we headed along the river down to the flats at the back of Greenwich station - I'm so glad we found these as it enables us to hit hundreds of houses in the space of a few minutes! Although even with just 7 people it's impossible to keep track of where everyone is! I need a drone!!!

We'd gotten rid of about three quarters of the leaflets so we moved on to the next location. We ventured north of the river and posted the remaining flyers in the houses over there. After half an hour or so, Bliss posted the final one and we were done! Completed it mate.

So yesterday was Pi day, and people all around the world celebrate this day by eating circle shaped objects such as pie (obviously), pizza, burgers, biscuits.... sounds amazing actually. However because we are a fit and healthy running group we celebrated by running around in circles instead! Although Millwall Park is far from a perfect circle, I wouldn't fancy my chances of calculating the area of THAT shape! But it served a purpose for the fitness session anyway!

As I mentioned yesterday, it is pretty much bang on 800m around, making it the perfect place for your weekly interval session, plus it's lit up at night which is great. We got into groups and did a few landmark sprints of varying lengths with jog recoveries until we arrived back to the start. It's such an easy thing to do if you're out for a run and want to get in some speedwork but haven't planned a proper session. Try it out on your next run!

After two laps, we were suitably out of breath and shuffled our way to the foot tunnel. We had achieved and surpassed our targeted distance of 3.14159265359 miles so were now worthy of a cool down stretch!

Great job last night and great running from everyone!! Hopefully see you all next week!
