The sun shone on 4 goodgymers plus several other volunteers at Oxford City Farm for a mix of regular volunteer shifts, animal feeding and café running.

Upon arrival, we quickly became (re)acquainted with Scooby, Shaggy and Sean (sp) the sheep who were very eager for their food from the food shed! We also met Peter the rabbit (still enclosed after running away a few weeks ago) and 2 new bunnies, one of whom was a bit frisky but enjoyed their time in the rabbit run.

We split the tasks, with Julia helping to serve tea, coffee, squash, and delicious cake, including a rhubarb and elderflower tray bake made using produce from the farm. Sarah was helping with the animal feeding ensuring visiting children could feed the sheep safely and helping Henry and Ben with weeding of the strawberry and mint patches. There was also some woodchip to lay on a path and watering to do with the warm weather.

Once the weeding was done and after having a nice tea break, we parted ways to enjoy the rest of the jubilee weekend.
