422 Community Hub
422 Community Hub is a project of Manchester Vineyard, a local church and charity who in 2020-2021, through generous donations, grants and volunteer labour transformed a derelict former youth centre into a thriving Community Hub.

Similar to previous foodbank runs for Manchester South-Central foodbank, we have been asked by a community hub in Longsight if we could scour the cupboards and buy a few extras to help out with the community Pantry at 422 Community Hub.

We have been given a specific list of items they are particularly short of, so please prioritise these if you can:

  • Tinned meals
  • Tinned fruit
  • Tinned Tuna
  • Tinned sweetcorn
  • Squash
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Long life milk
  • Baby wipes
  • Cereal

We will drop these in a secure storage box at the site, and perhaps do a quick litter pick of the nearby streets/car park (all equipment provided).

We will be meeting at Whitworth Art Gallery (What3words: ///cable.pays.jacket) for those who wish to get a light jog in. There is a big Lidl nearby too for picking up any additional items. We will then run back to the art gallery after the session.

If you wish to meet directly at the task, this is 422 Stockport Road, M12 4EX (What3words: ///paused.opens.vivid). There are regular 192 buses to the location from the city centre.

About GoodGym

We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects across the Manchester region.

The Run/Walk/Cycle

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you can't run for more than 15mins without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
