Huge Milestones!

Wednesday 16th September

Written by Emma McNally

We met at old spike before heading out on our group run. It was lovely to see Laura and Roland back! Half of us headed to Kelly Park Avenue and the other half went to Traid. At Kelly Park we litter picked and watered the plants. Over at Traid the other half of the group packed away the clothes for the end of season sale. After our sessions we headed to the Old Nags Head to celebrate Nathanโ€™s 300th and Isaacโ€™s 200th GG run. Both huge mile stones!!

Setting up for Harvest Festival

Saturday 12th September

Written by Andrada

It was an usual busy morning before the Harvest Festival. We helped by moving chairs, tables and putting up gazebos and carrying stuff around, while occasionally getting distracted by the goats. Everyone was in the festival spirit, including the animals. It was lovely to see everything coming together and hearing that the festival was a success. It was also lovely to see the new mosaics around the farm.

Knott grass is not grass

Wednesday 2nd September

Written by Southwark runner

Today we went to help Ian at the rugby club by weeding and re-seeding one of the pitches. Daryl and Steve were on seed duty, whilst everyone else was weeding. Ian set us the challenge of filling up a tonne bag full of weeds, which was accomplished just in time! After a scramble to put away the tonne bag, a group photo, and quickly scoff down a mini chocolate bar, we ran back to Old Spike. A few of us headed to the pub afterwards.

Putting the Good in GoodGym ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’š

Sunday 30th August

Written by Brenda SMITH (She/her)

Two GoodGymers turned out for volunteering duties at Peckham Rye junior parkrun, helping the event run smoothly from start to finish. One marshalled the course, another tail walked to make sure no junior was left behind, and together they went the extra mile so local youngsters could enjoy a safe and supportive run.

No PBs needed when you're powering a community event. Just plenty of cheer, volunteer spirit, and another run-derful morning of giving back the GoodGym way! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Paving the way... For a nice wildlife garden

Thursday 27th August

Written by Southwark runner

I went to help out at Tarbard Garden's volunteer day. I joined other volunteers from other organisations to help improve the garden, by making a nice picnic bench area and also building some mounds where wildflowers will be eventually planted. It was a great workout!

Running on Volunteers power at Peckham Rye junior parkrun

Sunday 23rd August

Written by Brenda SMITH (She/her)

'Thank you very much for your support at Peckham Rye junior parkrun on 2026-08-23'.' text message from the Run Director.

Without Volunteers, Junior parkrun would be stuck at the starting line, so it was great to see Goodgymers helping make the event a run-away success. Every high-five, cheer and barcode scan helpa young runners develop healthy habits for the future.

If you can spot the difference between these photographs, you're a super spotter...or perhaps just a Goodere-mer! ๐Ÿง
