Hugh has done their first good deed with GoodGym.

Hugh is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

Crazy Cats at Felix Road

Bristol Report written by Shona Buchanan

Due to GoodGymers being spread across multiple runs around Bristol this evening, we had a reasonably-sized 20 people who stuck with the usual group run and came to get fit by doing good at Felix Road Adventure Playground.

After a warm-up of the classic game, Shona Says, the group soon left to amble along the cycle path towards Easton and Felix Road Adventure Playground. The summer holidays have been a busy time for the playground, culminating in a massive event last week celebrating their 75th anniversary where they had 450 children on site and 450 adults! All of this great fun meant there was a lot of work to be done for our runners to get stuck into.

On arrival, Zoe and Mandy split the group into the gardening team and the litter picking team, with the encouragement that if the teams finished their jobs they would be able to move on to the all-important and tempting Painting Of The Play Structure.

Soon, GoodGymers armed with bin bags were zooming around the playground until they quickly filled 5 bags of rubbish and were ready to paint. They grabbed a primary colour of their choice (which, to many of the group's surprise, Tim was able to pick and tell apart) then got to work painting sections of the structure. It is a big job, and one which the group will be returning to complete in the not-too-distant future.

Meanwhile, the gardeners hacked their way through a whole pile of prickly brambles and transported them to the compost heap. They put in a tremondous effort and managed to leave a clear area next to the young children's climbing frame.

We ran, lunged and press-up'd our way back into town and we were soon back at base, stretching off and rushing off for our well-deserved Pieminister for our monthly GoodGym Eats!
