Brent Report written by Pritesh Mistry
Eight brilliant people came out on a very mild Monday evening to run over 8km for Canal & River Trust!
After everyone had gathered we headed outside and did a quick warm-up. We talked about the news:
It was just over 4km to the Brent Feeder at Stonebridge so quite a long one but we all coped really well and kept up a good pace. We bumped into our old friend Colin from the Old Police Station, counted hundreds of the new public electric bikes and at Roundwood Park ran through the remnants of a fun fair! We did think we might stop to ask them if we could have a go but we figured we should go to our task first... maybe on the way back!
Once we reached our site we split into two teams - the dark side and the light side with Liz taking the dark side team by virtue of her brighter headtorch and Tabitha the ligher side. We worked hard for fifteen minutes scouring the area for litter. By the end we had four big black bags filled with litter and we hadn't even started on the litter in the canal! Great work everyone!
With that it was time to run back, we were getting a bit weary - it's been a while since we've had a long run - but everyone powered on. When we got to Roundwood sadly the fun fair was completely closed which made it all quite eerie!
Once back to base we stretched off and then headed for a drink! A great session - thanks everyone!
Cheers, Pritesh

Vero logged their first training run with GoodGym.
Oh yes. Vero is training. This is how the greatest atheletes on earth are made. Vero is making it happen. They logged their first training run on the GoodGym site; extraordinary things are sure to follow.

Lose the boss? With Pritesh absent (not got the runs but unable to run), Tabitha stepped up to the bowl with nothing to loos meanwhile Liz brought up the rear end. Seven Clean Girls hot footed the two km to Brent Mencap ...with the secret(ed) mission to be revealed...they didn't know they would be cleaning toilets...
News of the week included congratulating Liz, Karen and Pritesh on their Saturday Beer and Burger 10 k Gladstone parkrun didn't go ahead as the course was dangerously icy, so watch this space for attempt *number Two *
After a welcome and warm up we made our way , keeping warm at the traffic lights with squats and starjumps, until we were saved by the green man. Only two km to the task so we made it in no time, on arrival at Mecap. Ann explained to us all the history of the building and the great work they do with the community. We split into three groups to get down to the dirty deed. Karen and Vero took the top floor , Liz, Karishma and Georgie took centre stage and Tabitha and Louise cleaned up the bottom. Mencap rent out the rooms to keep the charity afloat, so its important to clear the floaters and make sure the bathrooms are presentable. We did a job Mrs Hinch would be proud of, and after hearing what else needs doing in the building, may even have the next community mission lined up.
Once completed we set off back for a well deserved drink in the Queensbury . Thank you everyone for a great job!
Sorry for all the sht jokes, we tried to keep it clean. Love loo all, see you next time

Twelve brilliant runners joined me in Brent as we helped Queen Park Community Council
Having literally jumped off a plane and headed straight to Brent it was great to see so many of you along for the run this evening! After getting ourselves together we headed out for our intro. The main news it still the January Challenge - we are doing well but we need to do MORE!!!
Chi had come along tonight to join in our fun and promote the Spartan run that he and some other goodgym-ers are going to - details to come.
After the task info, health and safety and all the intros were done we headed off towards Queens Park.
We picked up Georgie along the way and met Lindsey and Emma from QPCC. We were delivering their community newsletter: Queens Park Voice. With tree streets to tackle we split into three teams, split the newsletters between us and off we went. All the teams worked hard and in 30 mins all the deliveries had been made - hurrah! Chi's team even had time for a run round the block as they waited for the rest of us!
Amazing work and invaluable help for QPCC.
With that done we headed back to base - this was up the hill we had run down - everyone put in a great effort. Once back at base we stretched and then went in to celebrate out birthday! It was a catalogue errors from me but we celebrated well and Tom had made some super delicious brownies for us too! The errors: it birthday was last week and some how i have lost the ability to count - we are actually four not five!
Great evening everyone - details for next week will be confirmed soon!
Cheers, Pritesh
