Kingston upon Thames Report written by Julie
This morning we were back at the BHF for the second time this week, helping to hang and sort the mountain of donated clothes they received from a TV production company.
After a warm welcome from Christine we headed downstairs to the piles of bags, and worked our way through. Jas, Mira and Saber took over the men's clothes rails and found some smart suits and jackets. Melissa, Emma, Emily, Jana and Julie worked through the women's bags and hung up some smart work clothes, winter jumpers and even some sparkly Christmas party outfits!
After filling 12 rails ready for the shop floor we packed up ready to go home, but not before grabbing a few bargains from the shop!
A big welcome to Emma on her first task this morning, and well done to Jas on his 10th task.

This evening's mission was to carry on with the great work GoodGym have carried out previously in and around the flowerbeds @ Surbiton Library. 9 avid weeders came together to crack on with the dandelion-plucking, litter-picking, flowerbed-tidying, broom-sweeping and lavender-pruning.
The enthusiasm we were all showing was obviously infectious as our numbers soon increased to 10 as a passerby appreciated our efforts so much he got involved himself! To be seen again (more formally) in another task soon we hope.
It's always amazing what can be achieved in an hour with many busy hands - what a transformation. From stacked with rubbish and weeds at 7pm to super-clean and tidy at 8. Excellent work team!

Claire, Jade, Sabir, Rachel, Julie and Ken all met at the Quaker Centre for a warm up and run to the BHF shop to help create a festival window. We hadn't met Ken before but he's a seasoned GoodGymer and used to setting up tasks up the road in Richmond - welcome to your first Kingston outing!
After a loop of Fairfield we headed around the houses and then to town to assemble at the BHF shop. We met Mira, Jas and Jana there - what a great crowd! GoodGymers love this task as the store room is like a box of treasures and we can let our creativity go wild with the window design.
Christine and her staff welcomed us and let us loose in the stock room. We filled 3 large cages with sleeping bags, tents, foldaway chairs and hampers - anything you might need for a weekend at Glasto. In the other stock room, Ken, Jas and Sabir moved a large metal display cabinet down the lift to use as a backdrop and storage for the items.
Halfway through the task, the place had stuff everywhere so it was definitely a race against the clock. We focused on the task at hand and soon the window started to come together. By the end of the hour we were done and very impressed with what we had achieved in that time. Passersby were even stopping to take a look! Mission achieved. Well done, GoodGym Kingston.
We'll be setting up Halloween and Christmas window display tasks soon so keep an eye out for those.
