It was a welcome break from work to make a brisk walk in the sunshine to Mr A's house today and help with taking out his rubbish. This was a short but sweet mission - after a brief chat, Mr A showed me what needed to be done and the rubbish was sorted in no time. Mr A thanked me for my help, then I was on my way back to the office with the mission complete.

Mr A will have peace of mind that this is done as he cannot physically carry it himself. He is housebound.

The area today was pretty clean so we walked until we found some. Everybody was welcoming and friendly. My son and I had fun. This has prompted us to do more in our own area in our spare time in addition to joining Good Gym.
Thanks guys

As part of the The Great Get Together 10 goodgymers met in the local park for a litter pick. 5 have just taken part in the social run so a nice walk was a lovely change of pace.
The Great Get Together is inspired by the late Jo Cox MP, who was killed on 16th June 2016. In her first speech in Parliament, Jo said: “We have more in common than that which divides us.”
Showing that we have #MoreInCommon we made our way through the park to make it a little better for everyone that uses it. We found a dolls head, tidied up the river bank, cleaned up one of the busiest parts that day.
We stopped for coffee and some snacks, and received a lot of thanks from random strangers this day. It was a great way to celebrate the message #MoreInCommon. With our final helping stranger taking our group photo and giving us the report title. By saying smile you rubbish heroes, i mean Rubbish Heroes, not rubbish......heroes.

After a day of the most confusing weather it was with pleasure that we all arrived at the plot without and sight of rain. It was going to be a bit different today, a soil sieve was already set up and today was time to move the beast logs to there new home as a seating circle.
Ellen, Emily, Jemma and Flo got to work with the soil contraption, throwing soil like there was no tomorrow, separating stones removing clumps and worms.
Michael, Martin, Nathan and Llion contemplated logs, after some different attempts it was decided to roll and then 'toss' (caber style) into the area. This was a workout but so very satisfying to see the end result.
An hour went quicker than anyone expected but the results were there to see, barrows of soil where ready for use and a new larger seating area for the community to start to use.
Before we left we all went to see the fantastic new tented structure, just waiting to be used for story telling - I can't wait.

After two goodgym social runs a group of eight met in the local park to do some good and help keep one of our regular walking, running, and cycling areas clean and tidy. Welcome to Aidan who joined for the social run and then stayed on for the litter pick.
It was a beautiful walk through the trails of the woodland and wild garlic was the usual abundant spring plant that we've come to love in the parks.
Not as much litter on the path as in our past missions, and the river Taff was high after all the rainfall on Saturday. But we still found the usual items along the bank, we kept the polystyrene and plastic away from our waterways as much as we could.
A nice clean river for the new little ducklings to explore.
Plenty of chatting and lots of walking and three bags of rubbish later, it was time to head off back to rest of our Sunday plans.
