I am the area activator for Kingston Upon Thames. Keen to keep moving and improving.
By transforming a neglected, overgrown space into a managed pollinator bed, this project will improve public safety by restoring full pavement access for pedestrians through the removal of encroaching brambles. It will also boost community well-being by creating a more attractive, greener streetscape that enhances an otherwise neglected strip of land. The project will also strengthen biodiversity by expanding the wildway corridor, providing vital habitats for pollinators and small insects.
Planned Works
We will be meeting at the Quaker Centre for 6.30pm and will run 3km to Langley Avenue (Stop SA) bus stop, Surbiton, KT6 6QL. We will get there for approximately 7pm if you need to meet us there. We will be doing a 3km run back after the task ends.

Kingston Council: Pollinator pathWe’re growing the 'Wildway' at Upper Brighton Road! While the roundabout is already being restored into a wildflower meadow, we’ve set our sights on the overgrown scrub near the bus stop (Langley Avenue (Stop SA)). By clearing the encroaching brambles and planting a new pollinator bed, we’re creating a space that’s not only easier to walk past but also more beautiful for neighbors and better for our local bees and butterflies.

The area you are working in may be in darkness which could cause a risk of trips or concealed hazards.
This is a GoodGym group run. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run to the task together. If you can't run for more than 15 minutes without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Rachel White by email at rachelwhite@goodgym.org.
GoodGym is a community of people that get fit by doing good. We run, walk and cycle to do practical tasks for community organisations and isolated older people.
