About this session

Join us for a feel-good fitness and volunteering session as we head out together to care for our local Tiny Forest โ€” a tennis-court-sized patch of wild woodland right in the heart of the city! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿฆ‹

Weโ€™ll meet at Shepherds Bush station for a warm-up before heading off as a group โ€” you can run, walk or cycle (your choice!) to the Tiny Forest at Norland Open Space. After our task, weโ€™ll return together for a cool down and some well-earned high fives. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Youโ€™ll be helping with:

๐ŸŒฑ Weeding around young saplings

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Litter picking to keep the forest clean and safe

๐Ÿชต Checking mulch, fences, benches and signs

๐ŸŒฟ Spotting signs of drought or tree stress

This is a hands-on, outdoorsy task that supports biodiversity, helps young trees thrive, and keeps this special space looking lovely for the whole community. ๐Ÿ’š

Tiny Forests are mini but mighty โ€” packed with 600 native trees and shrubs, theyโ€™re buzzing with life and backed by the science of Earthwatch. Theyโ€™re designed to grow fast, support wildlife, and bring people closer to nature. ๐ŸŒโœจ

What to look out for

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety for taking part in a GoodGym session.

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Cheski Kennedy (she/her) by email at francesca@goodgym.org.

Options are available to run between 2km and 3km in total.

Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
