It's great to combine doing good in the community whilst exercising, and having a lot of fun with like minded people. You don't have to be a fast runner to join, you can be a slow runner, a jogger or even a walker, as I am.

Val had noticed the vast amount of plastic on the coastal footpath, after the recent extreme high tides.
So we set ourselves a 1 hour challenge, and were amazed at the quantity of multi-coloured plastic, fishing line & rope that we collected in that time.
We received plenty of interest and thank-yous from passing dog walkers.

Val, Tracey & I got scrubbing to help SPARK Community Space to clean up after building works and to prepare for their 1st year birthday party. (Congratulations!)
We cleaned out all the kitchen cupboards and worktops, and dusted all the books & bookshelves.
Val sorted all the bags of coffee and biscuit selections, while Tracey found her happy place bringing order to the cupboard stuffed with plastic bags.
We rattled through our tasks and left it looking "Sparkling"!

Nia, Val and Abby joined the friends of nore barn woods in their monthly conservation activities on a beautiful saturday morning.
The team split and worked in three different teams. Val was working on building a boardwalk out of reclaimed branches for the super muddy path in the north of the woods. Nia joined the team in raking all the debris off the paths that the recent storms had brought in and Abby was having a mud bath assisting with digging a trench to help divert future flood water away from the paths the public use. At the end of the task I am proud to say I had earnt the label 50 shades of clay!
We worked hard all morning and treated ourselves to a well deserved lovely lunch in Emsworth.

Despite the un-forecast rain this evening, Team GG were undeterred and made a big difference to the winter weeds that had popped up at St Michael's Church garden.
With the help of some hoes, spades and a curious edging tool, we were able to neaten up the paths around the church entrance and vegetable patch.
We've been invited back to help with some planting next month!

The garden provides a green space for residents. to enjoy and fresh produce for those who struggle with the cost of food. The garden is looking a bit sad after the winter break, and we need to get it nice again and ready for planting out seedlings.
