Lovely return to the Southville centre to refresh the painting outdoors. We split in to two groups with Will and Emily doing a great job of the wooden frame and myself, Steph and Nuria doing a slightly less great job on the fences (!). After initial confusion between brown and red we did some of the fence posts before moving on to the bench to make up for our colour confusion. A great evening to start the bank holiday :) happy Easter!

We took over from the first group this morning at the berry maze and carried on weeding, cutting back the raspberry plants, and sorting out the wires. All finished with a penguin and a raspberry plant for our gardens :)

The rain didn’t put us off this morning and we headed to Royate Hill allotments for some Saturday fun.

We were met by Mike and Joci who gave us a tour and a very interesting history of the allotments right from the very beginning. We then divided into groups and got to work.

We moved paving slabs around the chicken pen and wheelbarrowed loads of crates full of compost and wood chip. Lots of heaving lifting and spreading later and the paths around the allotment are less slippy and good to go for the winter.

When we were finished, we were treated to some homemade apple juice from the trees in the orchard before we headed back home to get dry!
