Endure 24

Sat 18 Jun 12:00 pm
The Gardens, Wasing Lane, Aldermaston, RG7 4NG
A 24 hour team relay event with festival vibes!

Calling all GoodGym runners!!

Are you ready to take on the clock and rack up as many miles as possible in 24 hours?

This year we are excited to confirm that GoodGym Windsor and Maidenhead are taking on this fantastic multi-award winning relay event as part of a team - and there are still spaces left!

It is set in the stunning grounds of Wasing Park in Reading.

You will get the full Endure24 experience, including unrivalled camaraderie from your fellow participants, fully-stocked pitstops laden with water stops and tireless support from the staff and medics who will help you every step of the way!

Team A (smaller team) is now complete and full with 6 members: Sophie, Jess, Amanda, Matt, Paul and Ankur

Team B (larger team of 10-12) is currently recruiting, so now is your chance to secure your place! Here’s how to enter:

  • Use this listing to sign up AND
  • Contact Kelley or Sophie who will send you an email confirming details of how to enter the GoodGym team using a specific password via the Endure 24 website (please do not enter via the website without doing this as otherwise you will not be linked to the correct team)
  • Once you’ve received the team specific information (link & password) you will need to pay your entry fee (approx £75pp) which includes race entry and car parking.

General info on the event can be found here: (Please do not enter using this website without contacting Kelley or Sophie first for the team specific info)

Team B will ideally be around 10-12 people meaning each team member gets approx 2x 5 mile laps each across the 24 hour relay period.

If you are keen to enter but would prefer to run in a smaller team, please let us know as this would involve setting up a 3rd team but this is certainly a possibility if there’s similar interest from others.

A few things to remember:

  • Try to plan some training runs in the months leading up to the event - attending parkrun each week or GoodGym group runs will be a great way to start!
  • The event involves camping outdoors with your teammates and has a festival atmosphere
  • Amy has done it before and we have it on good authority that it’s going to be EPIC! ❤️

🏃🏻‍♀️Happy running!🏃

A chilly (but not hilly) 5km run!

Fri 21 Jan
Report written by Sophie Lack

Amy, Steve and Sophie braved the cold temps and set of for a 5km social road run around the Altwood, Pinkneys Green and All Saints areas. We quickly got warm and kept a good pace finishing in around 31m (moving time) with a Brucey Bonus sprint finish at the end. A great way to end the week and rack up some miles for the January challenge!

Our bags were getting pretty Bulkely

Wed 19 Jan
Report written by Amy Lovell

As the government announced the end of their Plan B, we were just embarking on ours. Our planned trip to the Lawns Nursery needed to be postponed due to staff shortages, so we diverted our energy into a torchlit litter pick instead.

A very warm welcome to Nic, who joined us for her first session, despite the chilly weather and last minute uncertainty around what we would be doing. It was also great to welcome Fiona back for her second session and to catch up with regulars Sophie, Jess, Georgeta and Steve, who had all traveled from Maidenhead.

Thanks to Councillors Karen Davies, Amy Tisi and Helen Price, who helped give us a Clewer where we might target our efforts. Litter picking a new area was a Spital order for navigationally challenged Amy, but thankfully Steve was on hand to show us round his old neighbourhood.

We warmed up with a little 'litter picker hurdles' course at the Pirate Park, then Hatch Laned a plan that involved running together down St Leonards Road to Bolton Avenue, from where we would pick our way back to the start. Sophie, Fiona, Jess and Amy headed back down St Leonards, whilst Georgeta, Steve and Nic Boltoned off to tackle some more streets. We met up again around the Express Offie and compared notes on our findings: lots of the usual bottles, cans, plastic wrappers, cigarette butts and face masks, but also the more unusual... a doll's bicycle seat, a pair of glasses, keys, socks and even cash.

By now our rubbish bags were getting pretty Bulkeley Ave, and we were a bit Clewer cHilly so we found public bins for most of the rubbish and headed towards home with a Springfield Ave in our step. Fiona hung onto her bag just in case we found any more rubbish on the way, and turns out it was Dedworth Road it! We had lots of fun scoring litter hoops in the moving target provided by Fiona's bag and meanwhile she got an epic arm workout.

Well done everyone! Keep an eye on the listings for when the run/walk to the Lawns is rescheduled. All upcoming events can be found here. See you soon!

Painting and leaf sweeping at The Lawns

Wed 19 Jan 18:45 pm
The Pirate Park, Dedworth Road, Windsor, SL4 5BD
Run or walk to help spruce up this pre-school's playground

#WednesdayNightisGoodGymNight and this week we are getting fit and doing good in Windsor!

We'll meet at the Pirate Park for a briefing and warm up before heading off on our run or walk to the task location, The Lawns Nursery School. We'll take an indirect route 2-3km so we can get a decent workout on the way there. All fitness levels are welcome and on our journey we will always have experienced GoodGymers back-marking to make sure no one gets left behind.

Our to do list for the evening includes sweeping up leaves and sanding and painting some panels on the side of a garage. Sounds right up our street! We'll also enjoy a short circuits session before we walk or run back to our start location for our stretches and goodbyes.

A head torch and gardening gloves are a must for this session. We've also had cake on two previous visits to the Lawns. Anyone fancy doing some baking and continuing the tradition!?

A few GoodGymers will be travelling from Maidenhead, so there may be an opportunity to car share. Shout out in the WhatsApp if you're keen. If you're not part of the WhatsApp and would like to join contact Amy on

Social 5km road run

Fri 21 Jan 17:00 pm
All Saints Church, Boyn Hill Road, Maidenhead, SL6 4HE
Let's motivate each other to get out running

This week (starting with blue Monday) is supposedly the week of the year when we are most likely to feel low. The nights are long, it's freezing out there, and the urge to hibernate is strong! So let's get out together to help beat those blues and kick off the weekend in a positive, active way. We'll clock up some more kms for the January Challenge while we're at it. We'll go at a pace to suit the group, we'll have a chat while we run, and we'll all feel much better for it. Meet outside All Saints Church on Boyn Hill Road. Free on-street parking at this time.

Run the Maidenhead Easter 10

Fri 15 Apr 09:00 am
Westacott Way, Maidenhead, SL6 3QH
Join other GoodGym members at Maidenhead's local race

This egg-cellent Good Friday 10-miler is a cracking way to kick off your Easter weekend!

This is Maidenhead's local race: organised by MAC and really well supported and attended by the local community. Support includes GoodGym volunteering on the course, so if you don't want to run then head over to this community mission listing instead

The relatively flat course covers 10 miles on rural roads and paths around Maidenhead. A few laps of the Maidenhead Office Park at the start give plenty of space for the pack to spread out and for last minute trips to the portaloos! The race then breaks out onto scenic bridleways West of Maidenhead, and past one of the country's oldest and best known airfields at White Waltham.

Click here to register to take part and run.

Please note, GoodGym does not allocate places for this event, this page is simply used to coordinate meeting with and supporting other GoodGym members who are attending. You should sign up to this listing AND you need to sign up through the official race page for an entry.

Note the start time for the run is 9.30am but the group will be meeting earlier in the race village.
