Linda was already at the food bank when James and I arrived shortly before 9am ready for a full session. The shelves had been stocked previously by Linda and other volunteers in the days leading up to the Good Friday session. There were three other good gymers including Sharon and Herman with Tina which made the 70 or so orders easier to pick as well as some young folk on the Duke of Edinburgh award all working together. There was a good number of Easter eggs donated that were added to every order that had children in the family. Very soon the shelves were severely depleted after filling all the orders and it was time to restock with supplies that we had in the back store. We were finished in record time having done two days work ( normally ) in a much shorter time than we expected and all thanks to Linda and her excellent organisation skills, well done Linda !!

Perhaps a day early, but it felt just right to add a little Halloween to the Monday evening group session.... or was it just an excuse to dress up?
Sign-up numbers ran into double figures, perhaps down to the suggestion of a little social at the pub afterwards 😉
A few had to unfortunately pull out for various reasons, leaving 9 brave souls to venture out in the dark & misty world, searching for litter.
Linda took Helen & Sharon on a walk down the High Street, while Cedric took the running group to a quiet corner freshly mowed to clear some litter there before the group went round to the usual stretch along the A12.
A few bags and a jog round Leyton Flats later the crew reunited back at base, before strolling down the road to the local pub for a well earned drink.
P.S.... thanks to Elegia for the creative face painting!

The power of positive thinking perhaps slightly overruled the sensible side so we left the head torches at base when we set off to join Steph at the Eastwood Community Garden in South Woodford.
It looks like this was about the last evening we could get away with it, not in the least due to the lamp posts nearby... so mental note - its that time of the year to both keep an eye on the weather as well as check the batteries in the torches.
As per usual it was a mixed bag of walking & running to task as well as meeting on site, all in all 7 of us joining Steph to hunt for specific weeds to remove as well as keeping the paths clear of any plants encroaching.
Soon enough the large green bag was about full of bits & pieces removed, with some rubbish in a big bag as well. Time to pack up, tools were collected, bags dropped off at Stephs and off we went on our separate ways again.
P.S. kudos to Linda for rememberin the banner to highlight James' milestone of 300 tasks! give him a cheer
