"They picked up Trash and did the Monster Mash. (The Monster Mash) It was a GoodGym Smash!"

It was a Halloween howler for our naughty nine runners tonight but not until we'd grabbed a photo with the awesome Emily and her black GoodGym t-shirt. Then we donned our bat and pumpkin reflective patches, set head torches to stun and followed our devil-horned leader Steph in to the darkness.

The Holloway hill gave our legs and lungs a proper warm-up ready to tackle one hell of a quad workout.

118 steps later and we arrived at Alexandra Park for tonight's terrible task - litter picking!

We split up in to teams and braved the dark and raced to see which trio could collect the most rubbish.

Emily, Steve & Joe mostly chatted or told ghost stories by torchlight judging by their half full black bag!

John, Irena & Jaxx scoured the perimeter for scraps and secured second place for their efforts.

But the self appointed winners were Pascale, Rob & Steph (after tapping in to their prior knowledge of the best undergrowth to rummaging in for rubbish!)

The mist rolled in giving an apt eeriness to our descent back to base which ended with a hellish set of squats (Thanks Rob!)

During cool-down Jaxx took us from Monster Mash to Birthday Bash and led us in a rendition of 'Happy Birthday' in honour of GoodGym Bath turning one this week.

We're holding our bound-to-be-brilliant birthday celebration this Thursday 27th. Meal – Bombay Lounge, 6pm Pub Quiz – The Boater, 7.30pm https://www.goodgym.org/parties/goodgym-bath-s-1st-birthday

So sign in and sign up to let our super social secretary Rosie know you're coming and we'll see you there

Thank you Pascale a Great run report and Smasher of a pun

We had a Weedy Good Time on the Path to our WEEDER

We must be blessed for our group runs lately with yet another beautiful sunny evening for our 10 Goodgym runners taking on a sweet 5k run to Bath Organic group on the upper Bristol road to help clear the Paths ready for their GROW IT, EAT IT event being held on Sunday at 1.30pm with visitors getting a chance to taste the produce and do a bit if live voting on their favourites. Such a lovely place and well worth a visit.

Great to see a few familiar faces tonight with a visit and Paul from Bristol clocking up a lot of Good Deeds lately, I think he's on a mission! He's definitely been on a few lately and I believe Kim maybe the root of the cause.

Warm up and intros out of the way, we headed out along the river for a change of scenery and a little shade along the way whilst being mindful of the many bicycles that frequent this route. We even endured some functional fitness on route to get us limbered up and ready.

We arrived at the task in good time. Kate and Tim our hosts were waiting for us armed with tools and gloves to help us get to the root of the problem, so we took the challenge TWO BY TWO with John and Cosmo getting stuck into composting and Paul (with the trousers) and Emma tackling the stingers leaving Pascale,Mim and Joe clearing the pathway leading to the pond. Rosie joined us after her coach run.

We devoted 40 minutes in the end with the last 5 minutes consisting of drinking fresh apple juice and eating sausage rolls with a wee toast to tonight's hosts in the group photo. We even bagged an apple or two.

It's amazing what a bit of hard graft and sweat can achieve in a short space of time, plus you get the added bonus of THE FEEL GOOD factor for good measure.

A nice fast paced run back to the leisure centre with a stretch out followed by a short walk to take some thirst quenching refreshments for our monthly social catch up on everything Goodgym. Rosie is now Taskforce and will be organising our 1st Birthday party and Christmas social. Pascale was Wassailing to the group when I left with a hop skip and jump.

Thanks you amazing lot for keeping the summer months alive and here's hoping September brings us more sunny days. A special mention to Emma and John for our combined Pun tonight.

Do bring your ID to the next group run and get signed up ready for The heritage pools visit next week https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/heritage-pools

"Here we go..oh..fliering all over the world" (well..Bath!)

It was a steady seven kilometres run in the summer sun with our legs eleven runners. The Group Run task in hand was to deliver Age UK pamphlets to local medical centres to inform them of the great range of activities available to older people in BANES.

Their befriending service naturally got us talking about the GoodGym Coach runs and one-off Missions. (If you'd like to be involved in these activities but haven't had your DBS check yet then let us know and we'll get the GoodGym ball rolling.)

Our run route started on Great Pultney Street where we felt the burn early on with some walking lunges, we then tricep-dipped in Twerton, perfected our push-ups and planks up in Oldfield Park and finished up with sets of sit-ups on the grassy banks of the River Avon.

We also armed ourselves with GoodGym fliers to hand out to fellow Tuesday night runners in the hope that it would encourage them join us to get fit and do good. Hopefully we'll see new faces at future runs as a result, just as the BBC Points West report inspired John S to seek us out and join our jolly ranks.

Welcome to Jaxx tonight and thanks for the details about other club runs in the area (naturally GoodGym t-shirts are compulsory clobber for these events) : Monday - 6:30pm - Sweaty Betty
Wednesday - 6:30pm - Running Bath Thursday - 7:15pm - John Moore Sports

Also there's the fabulous Bath Skyline parkrun every Saturday morning at 9:00am and often a glorious GoodGym one-off mission run later on a Saturday morning too.

Thank you all for a fun run, special thanks to John R and Mim for back marking.

And it's a fond farewell to Charles, we look forward to following your on going running adventures so send us pics showing your GoodGym T-shirt on tour. Thanks for the run pun!

Steph is back next week, meanwhile I'm off to try the Moby plank challenge to the soundtrack of 'Bring Sally Up'. Pascale
