Not a task for the faint-hearted this evening as we headed to Lynde House Care Home to brush the windows free of any cobwebs and spider nest sacs, ready for lots of visitors over the Easter break!
We met at Tap Tavern ready for action with both a running group and walking group setting off over the river to the home. Feather dusters and brooms were the tools for the night, as well as some good creeping shoes for treading lightly around the residents' windows as they settled in their rooms! We worked around the whole of the outside of the building, finding some very active spider spots on the way before a suitably silly photoshoot with the feather dusters!
A final run and walk back to the Tap Tavern completed the group run for the week with a Taskforce meeting straight after to catch up on some fun ideas for GoodGym Richmond this summer and beyond!

A late change in the schedule saw the group meet at Petersham Common today where we have been helping task owner Ken to work on the traditional hedgerow this year. This is an amazing way to create a natural living habitat for the area, and it looks amazing too.
Ken has been working hard doing the bleaching and post placement so today we could just focus on the binding for the top using slim branches that can bend and flex around the posts. Split into three groups we managed to cover a large area in one sunny session before stepping back to admire our roadside handiwork with chocolates provided by Ken!

Monika and Maena set off to deliver leaflets for St John the Divine church, covering the Easter celebrations. Leaflets were delivered to houses along Blue Anchor alley (discovering some artwork along on the way) as well as Kew road and Michel Row. A job well done just in time for Easter.

As it was the second Monday of the month, tonight’s GoodGym Richmond Group Run headed out from the Tap Tavern to Buccleuch Gardens on the Thames Path where we have been planting and maintaining The Three Pigeons Plot, and The Arcade Rockery.
Foxglove Angel lady Rosie was the star of tonight's group run, winning her GoodGym wings, celebrating her 100th Good Deed.
Rosie showed us how GoodDeeds should be done by planting out foxgloves that we had grown from seed last year, exhibiting dock-banishing superpowers and demonstrating stellar star-jumps. But it was a team effort and the positive attitude was infectious. Have a look at the 'before and after’ photographs.
A big turn out and a lot of hard work from everyone saw amazing results in a short time: white foxgloves planted that should flower in early summer; docks banished from the lawn next to The Three Pigeons; the steps and hardstanding at The Arcade swept and de-mossed; the monstrous pampas' at The Three Pigeons cowed; the planters in front of The Arcade weeded; Lavender and Stachys pruned at the Arcade rockery; and a self seeded Verbena at the edge of The Three pigeons relocated to somewhere more suitable.
A fantastic Richmond GoodGym Group run and a great GG Richmond social in the Tap Tavern afterwards, celebrating Rosie’s centenary. Thank you everyone.
