Welcome to GoodGym Trafford! We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every week to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects in our area.

The Task:

We’re just working on confirming what the task will be and will let you know ASAP!

The Run/walk:

GoodGym is for everyone. We welcome runners of all abilities and it is often possible to walk to the task if you would prefer. We always have a back-marker so no-one is left behind - we're about achieving something together so you'll always be welcome no matter what your pace is.

Missing litter picks and running

Wed 1 Dec
Report written by Rob Tonks

Tonight saw Rob and Meera start the evening trying to find our missing litter picks at our start location, even the party goers chipped in to help find them, unfortunately to no avail!

Not put off by this, Rob And Meera decided it was still a nice night to go for a run, even with all the rain we'd had during the day!

We set off to one of our adopted parks, Brunton, with our head torches at the ready. This was Meeras first proper run since she completed the Coventry half-marathon in an excellent time of 2:30 raising over £800 for her chosen charity.

After a good run and chat, we finished of with some stretches back at base.

We will be back next week doing some more running and delivering flyers for Sustrans, hope to see you there.

Can we talk about it yet????

Tue 2 Nov
Report written by Liz Pharoah

On a cold Tuesday evening, 10 GoodGym Coventry members ran to support Carriers of Hope and Clothing Coventry.

it was great to welcome Susan on her first run with GoodGym Coventry and Laura led the warm up which was great too.

As several members of the group had participated in Coventry half marathon at the weekend so we had a walking and running group.

For Clothing Coventry, we sorted some clothes so that the summery donated clothes were packed away leaving only weather appropriate Clothing for the newly arrived refugees.

For Carrier of Hope, we started sorting toiletries for gifts and donations ready for their shoebox Christmas appeal.

We then ran and walked back to the start with the runners taking part in hill reps too!

Next week, we will be stick taking with the Social supermarket in Foleshill.

10 miles is a long way, and Meera knows 'cos they've run it. We are seriously impressed and hope you are too

Meera Mistry has run a 10k for the first time. Sun 31 Oct 2021

Meera has just run their first 10k. 10,000 metres would take you most of the way across London. It's far. Meera now knows a bit of what it might be like to be Mo Farah.
